NCIR History

Formed in 1992, the New Castle Industrial Railroad (NCIR) is a Class 3 “Common Carrier” servicing New Castle, PA and connecting local industry with CSX, Norfolk Southern, and Buffalo Pittsburgh Railroad.

Moving 10,000 carloads annually, the NCIR serves as an essential pipeline for New Castle Industry, helping to offer businesses the cost savings of rail, as well as reducing the number of trucks on local roads and highways. Family owned and operated, the NCIR maintains a customer first philosophy, striving to offer the best possible rail service to all customers.
